it does feel like spring is just around the corner - well at least it does at Spriggs Florist - with baskets and bowls filled with tete-a-tete narcissus, primroses, pussy willow, snowdrops and even some scented lily of the valley.
Geoff's bench is covered with moss and twigs, empty plastic pots and soil as he creates these lovely baskets. He is back to Holland on Tuesday for another plant buying extravaganza - so there will be even more spring fancies in the shop on Wednesday.
Then it will be all hands on deck as valentine's takes hold on the nation and romantic gestures will be the order of the day.
The web site is being updated early next week and Ruby will be making a guest appearance in the online buying section - she is a rather sumptuous bunch of reds and purples with lime greens for a bit of zest.
The country mice are off to London tomorrow, to visit the Natural History Museum to see the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. It's a bit of a mouthfull, but really looking forward to it - and of course a visit to the museum shop - highlight of the visit some might say.
So whatever you are doing this weekend - batten down the hatches its going to be another windy night, have a lovely Sunday walk in a park and enjoy a roast dinner.
